A sworn translation is an official translation that is recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and accepted by all public bodies and governmental agencies. A sworn translation is considered to be an original document in and of itself. Thus, for presentation and filing in Spain, it does not require any other type of legalization or apostille. In a sworn translation, the contents of the original document is attested to. The sworn translation is normally filed as a paper copy, along with the original document for comparison.
